Generals Wives Block of the Month Begins in October 2011 at The Woolen Needle

The Woolen NeedleWe’re excited to offer you an awesome new Block of the Month Quilt. “Generals Wives” is a gorgeous block of the month quilt that celebrates the lives of 6 Union Generals' Wives and 6 Confederate Generals' Wives. The center block is the insignia of the First Star General of the Army and its history. Unique to The Woolen Needle, we will be providing wool as well as cotton for the star appliqués on the center block. The quilt finishes at 102" square and was designed by Quilter’s Quarters in Leavenworth, Kansas. The line of fabric is created by Windham Fabrics in rich tones and exciting patterns. Once you pay the $25 nonrefundable Start-Up Fee, each month is just $24.95 for 12 months plus shipping & handling.

BOM Details and Policies

Start-Up Fee: BOM has a $25 non-refundable Start-Up Fee. This tells us that you are invested in the program, and helps cover the initial costs of the patterns and fabrics needed. It also allows us to offer you the quilt at a reasonable monthly fee without a large lump-sum payment at the end for borders, binding, etc. You will receive the fabric for the blocks, setting, borders, and binding for your quilt as part of the cost. We recommend you select (between red or blue toile) and order backing fabric when you sign up. You will receive a 20% discount on your backing fabric if ordered when you sign up.

Monthly: Each month’s BOM may be picked up in-store from the 5th – 15th of each month. All kits not picked up by the 15th will be shipped and charged to your credit card.

Billing: Beginning the first month of the program, and for the duration of the program, you will be billed the amount stated in the details + Shipping & Handling (and taxes when applicable). Monthly fees will be billed to the credit/debit card that you gave us when you signed up. If you’ve ordered backing fabric, it will be charged to your card the month that it is shipped. If, for any reason, we are not able to charge your card, we will email or call you, and your kit will be held until payment arrangements can be made. For this reason, we encourage you to let us know if you receive an updated credit card or expiration date.

Shipping & Handling: Shipping & Handling may vary throughout the program. If a kit is larger, and shipping is considerably more than normal, we will charge more shipping. Please know that we do our best to reduce shipping costs, and try to keep your normal, monthly shipping cost to under $5 per kit.

Cancellation: When you register for our block-of-the-month quilt program, it is understood that you are registering for the entire program. We will abide by this policy and prepare a kit for you each month with the understanding that you will remain in the program for the duration. We understand, however, that things happen. If something happens that causes you to need to cancel, please let us know right away! Should you need to cancel before the program is over, the Start-Up Fee is not refundable.
